Hendon man guilty of people trafficking

...

The UK Border Agency has introduced a raft of measures in recent years to strengthen border security, including -

* A triple ring of security that protects Britain, fingerprint visas that lock people to one identity, checks at the border against a range of immigration, crime and terrorist watch-lists and ID cards for foreign nationals.

* A shake-up of border security is already delivering results, with fingerprint visas helping UKBA officers catch thousands of people trying to hide their true identity or a criminal past.

* The UKBA’s new e-Borders system has screened over 94 million passengers, resulting in over 3,400 arrests and significant counter-terrorist interventions.

* Over the past five years the UKBA’s international network of immigration liaison officers have prevented over 240,000 people boarding planes without proper documents.
