Post subject: Criminal records check shows incorrect info?

Hi,
I was once arrested but never charged with any crime. I paid a penalty notice - which on it determined that doing so was not an admission of guilt - yet when applying for work which requires a criminal records check I found that my arrest was still being published on the statement, even though I have not been charged.
I am not a criminal, I've never committed a crime and the police recognise that. How can I get them to clear my criminal records check?

You cant, the police can disclose any information they choose to and you cant argue with it or stop them. You've got the judiciary to thank for that who decided that including rumours and accusations on CRB checks was legal and right/correct.
End result, sorry but tough its gonna be there for life.

You were misinformed. It is treated as such, despite the duress under which penalties are often paid.
