Well done Winston, you have destroyed his "argument".

He won't change it though. Watch.

I wont change as you both have lost both the argument and the plot.

LOL

I am against ID cards and will resist them as much as possible but both of you are rather silly if you think you can stop biometric access - you cant so put your feeble energies into fighting ID cards.

Of course it is possible to stop biometric access.

Anyway we shall see how fingerprint access develops, it will be interesting.

I hope it fails as I dont like the idea but I cant legally challenge its development. I can only withdraw my support for it by refusing to take part.

You keep suggesting that the ONLY thing you can do is to refuse to take part, which is not true, as Baron Von Lotsov showed.
You are also ignoring other points that have been made in order to frame your argument in a way which suggests total powerlessness. I wonder why. LOL

They probably kept their distance as they thought he was a nutter.

Best to humour this kind of character.

Yes, I see what you're saying; people who stand up for their rights and encourage others to do the same are dangerous to those who want to destroy our rights.

"Nutter" is an extremely predictable label used by these immoral smearers, which simply serves to highlight their tactics and their inability to have a reasonable debate without telling lies.

Thats funny - I thought you were the smearers by the manner in which you have both personally attacked me because I have given the feeble defence of your pathetic ramblings a sound thrashing.

This will all get deleted anyway - but I enjoy standing up to bullies and giving them the old one two, what!

See you, you old has-beans you. What silly sausages you are.

Make mine a fingerprint entry will you!

Oh by the way, the next time the nutter tries to enter the premises he may find he is thrown out on his ear.

Locked in the cells for an evening - that will show the bounder!

Don't be so certain of that. Some of the mods on here have a sense of humour and like a post such as the one above to linger around for 'educational purposes'.

I will offer a couple of examples of personal actions I have taken and the results of those actions to highlight the power that a single individual can have.

On a London bus I noticed two advertisments promoting the army to young persons. The adverts were misleading and encouraged people to risk their lives and harm the lives of other people. I found it particularly annoying that they should be on public buses. I therefore tore the adverts from the walls. I also made the decision to tear them down well before my destination stop. The bus driver stopped the bus and took the skrewed up adverts from me. He asked me why I had destroyed the adverts. I told him that I didn't think that these adverts were appropriate for a public bus and that people didn't want their children to die in a war. The driver asked me where I was going and I told him my destination some distance away. He asked me to leave the bus which I did. I then boarded the next bus some moments later and told the driver what had happened. I was not asked to pay for the bus again. Since that date I have not seen any such adverts on buses in that part of London.

On another occasion I noticed a large banner outside an Army office promoting the recruitment of persons for the army. Again I felt the advertising was misleading and inappropriate given that many young people lived in the area. It was late at night and no one was around so I jumped up and tore the banner down and deposited the advert in a bin near by. To this day no banner is displayed.

Most people arent prepared to cause criminal damage like you did and risk being prosecuted and fined.

Confrontational action such as this is dangerous and NO2ID cant condone acts of criminal damage on persons or private property.

Peaceful protest is the way forward not associating the NO2ID campaign with criminal activity or intimidating and threatening behaviour.

"Most people arent prepared to" ... act.

You proove my point. The masses of people who do nothing about anything make no difference. It is those who take action that have a profound effect on the world.

"I hope it fails as I dont like the idea but I cant legally challenge its development."

I can. And I'm rather planning to.

Remember I don't have very many intact fingerprints? {I have mentioned this before} Well. It's due to a form of eczema. I suspect that'll count nicely under the disability discrimination act. Lets see if the pubs are really willing to have DDA cases for imposing an access restriction on people like myself...

They've been made to provide alternate access arrangements for wheelchair users; they should have to provide alternate arrangements for me. Now, one of the reasons I'm opposed to the NIR is that the biometrics systems have the potential to be extremely discriminatory against some groups of people. I think it would be rather nice to have a legal precedent that you can't simply shrug and decide that "oh, well. Some people will just not be able to prove their ID".

So; does anyone have any timescales for this roll-out so I can go and be refused entry by it?

'Peaceful protest' is one of the absolute classics and worthy of nomination to one of the all time greatest British oxymorons. Orwell called it doublethink. When we have won there will be peace, so well done that man above. I know what it is like as I have done it myself, and it works.

So it's a crime to remove a piece of advertising now is it? Tearing down a poster is "criminal damage" (like burning someone's house down)? Stroll on.

The poster was inside a bus and therefore was the property of the bus owner.

If police had seen this being carried out the person would have been arrested.

So yes, stroll on, to the nearest police station.

You fail to understand that everyone who makes any effective kind of protest will be criminalised. It's already happening re the ban on protest around Parliament. Saving lives is not a crime in my vocabulary. I did the same with a dodgy advert on a train once because fighting brainwashing is part of the war to win back our rights. None of our rights in history have ever been won by peaceful protest. It's meaningless, we will do whatever it takes to stop ID cards and what we do is determined by the attitude of the authorities, if they listen we will speak to them, if they don't we will need to switch to other measures.

I met one guy once who was such a hardened rebel against the local police that they had a photo of him in the police canteen!
