I'm afraid I really preferred the old colour scheme, I find the new one a bit distracting. But thanks for all the good work you do!

It requires registering, but you can use the old default "silverblue" theme if you like. Multiple themes for the forums is a feature of the phpBB engine that powers them, a bit like skins for Winamp.

Pity there's effort going into colour schemes when nothing seems to be happening about the disgusting spam.

Well, phpBB comes with multiple themes as standard and it's a trivial task to add more. Removing the right of unregistered users to post would probably turn people away from a forum of this nature (and might be seen as hypocritical), and adding a CAPTCHA means getting your hands dirty with source code, amongst other potential problems (see the link for more details). There's not really an easy way to get rid of spam short of deleting it as it happens, unfortunately.

..incidentally, it seems that there's no "Disable HTML" tickbox now, so the quote problem seems to be solved. Yay.

I think they should have a few more moderators, and if possible, a Spam forum that the new mods can move spam comments into. If they make a mistake, the posts are still there and can be restored, but if not, they can be deleted when an admin comes along.

IMHO.

Incidently, I quite like the new colour shceme. :D

I thought I'd found the wrong Forum at first. Then I logged in and voila! it was back to 'normal'.
As for the spammers, well, all Forums get these to some degree, and it's probably due to the popularity of this one that we seem to get more than our share.
A bit tighter Moderation is required, notice please, I said 'moderation' NOT 'censorship'! :?
