Seems like a reasonable attempt to create a banner group for different libertarian campaigns. They're proposing a launch on Mar 6th, when the ID Bill returns to the Lords.
Obviously most of us will be busy lobbying the Lords but anyone finding they have spare time...

Dave:

Quick intro - the tag's Unity and I'm the guy putting together the Liberty Central site.

As you might imagine its all a little anarchic at the moment - mood of the moment and all that - but the cumulative effect of ID cards, glorification of terrorism and the Leg & Reg Bill has pushed things to tipping point and people from all sides of the old political divides are up for the core idea behind LC - the full works of a new consitutional settlement.

The door's open at LC for NO2ID anytime, although I appreciate you have pressing business to attend to at the moment, so consider this an open invitation to all when you have time.

I don't know anything about the anti- 'glorification' campaign but it seems the Leg & Reg Bill doesn't have a focal point, whereas No2ID will probably continue to be the focal point on ID cards and mass surveillance.

No2ID, of course, has invested in building up a lot of momentum, connections & goodwill amongst campaigners, press & politicians.

As such, I would expect Liberty Central to be both a portal to No2ID as well as providing a summary of what's going on in our little corner of freedom fighting. ;)

That will leave LC more time to focus & organise on the Leg & Reg Bill and whatever else this Govt tries to impose on us.

I imagine Phil & the rest of the No2ID board will be increasingly happy to cross-publicise LC as the LC campaign grows.

Site should be live by tomorrow AM, in the meantime, there is something you could do...

You don't happen to have standard size advertising banner for No2ID - gif, jpeg or flash, 478 x 60 px - do you?

If you do, just post it here or e-mail it to me at talkpoliticsuk@gmail.com with the url where you want it to point and I can do the rest.

We decided to try to keep the visual clutter down a bit by using banners and menu links to campaigns, rather than buttons in the sidebar.

A quick bash. The text "Fight for your freedom with the fastest growing campaign in the UK" is the best I can do for the next week or so.

If someone wants to replace it with something more appropriate, be my guest.

PSD version.

Just a quick update - LC is live and happening. I've just posted our first ID card related article - http://www.libertycentral.org.uk/content/view/15/34/ - and in addition to the news sections there are two sections, on the ID cards Bill and the 'Database State' of relevance to you guys.

I will be also be bringing my original article 'unlocking the register' up to date and starting to map the full extent of the potential database state that could easily be created using the NIR.

As things stand, from the YouGov poll in the Telegraph, we're winning most of the arguments at present - the one thing we need to breach is the 'nothing to fear, nothing to hide' line, the key to which may well be to show the full extent to intrusion, especially by the private sector, that the system makes possible.

It's all in the article anyway.
