Just wondering.

Lib Dems are for handing over control to the EU. The EU is driving force ID cards across Europe. How does the Lib-Dems level that conflict?

The Lib Dems are in favour of a liberal toleranet EU not a centralist authoritarian one and they would opt out of EU passports and any other ID card system, especially if they involved biometrics. We will always be the main force for defeating ID cards in the Commons, but realise it will take more than our 55 MPs to defeat this and so hope to persuade as many other MPs as possible from whatever party.
