A parliamentary reception on the impact of the database on Britain's black communities will be hosted by James Brokenshire MP, shadow minister for crime reduction on Tuesday 2nd March 2010, from 7.00 - 9.00pm in Committee Room 14, at the House of Commons, Westminster.

‘The disproportionate numbers of innocent people from African Caribbean communities on the DNA database has turned this into an election issue for these communities. People want to know where the parties stand on this. Currently 42% of the entire black male population living in the UK, and 77% of all young black men, are profiled on the database[2] even though the Home Office's own research shows that people from this group are less likely to commit a crime than their white counterparts.[3]
