As part of HMRCs "Real Time Information" initiative, they are currently touring employers and others touting their list of required information (which they are hoping to use the BACS system to obtain) from every employer. Apart from wht you might think is relevant (like how much pay you got) they are deminading stuff like hours worked, the value of your voluntary deductions and passport numbers for any non UK employees. This is far more than they actually need to make tax more efficient and looks like another information grab excercise.
