— I am not generally the bearer of good news, but I can’t help noticing that the weekly supplement of public sector job ads published by The Guardian has been on a diet. This litany of useless nonjobs – samples: “Parenting Coordination Manager”, “Common Assessment Framework and ContactPoint Implementation Manager” – is regularly sprawled across 120 pages. The total yesterday, after acres of editorial verbiage about “Action for Sustainable Living” and the like, is only 15 pages.
