We have a child starting school next week, and don't want her to be fingerprinted for any of these card schemes..I've looked around to see if there are any examples of letters that parents could send, but didn't find any..
Does anyone have thoughts/suggestions on whether this would be appropriate..
To Whom it may concern
It has come to our attention that an increasing number of schools are introducing various schemes, such as library cards, which require the fingerprinting of children. We would like to ask if there are any of these schemes already in use, or any plans to introduce them at this school. If a scheme is proposed, are there plans to inform/consult parents?
We are fundamentally opposed to this, and will not allow the fingerprinting of our child, nor the taking of any other biometrics for any purpose.
We look forward to your reply
Nothing like making yourself a 'popular parent' on the first day..
