School taken 4 year old bio data against my wishes

I posted this earlier in the legal section & then realised it should be posted here instead:

My sons primary school have taken my sons Biometric data, after we returned a slip refusing consent!
We returned the slips for our 4 & 7 year olds & today they scanned my sons thumb &
Processed the information onto their system.
we are going into the school tomorrow to deal with this, I am of the belief that they have broken the law (protection of freedoms act 2012)
Maybe someone on here with more knowledge knows more, but I will keep this topic updated as we proceed, (we are seriously considering seeing a solicitor)

Do please let us know how you get on when you talk to the school. It sounds as though they haven't got a leg to stand on.
