The Tories and Lib Dems are against ID cards.

Of course you may suggest that they would not be once in power - but until they do otherwise we must assume that they will scrap ID cards.

Well, you can choose to assume whatever you like, but please don't seek to advise me on my assumptions.

If and when the Conservatives and/or the LibDems get into power, my guess is that whatever they do will have little to do with pre-election promises and much to do with political expediency.
