Has everyone seen this? And what do they think?

I think it has good intentions but there's something dodgy about it. There's something not quite 'right' about it though - perhaps the Government has been doing some deals with a particular organisation of some kind?

Everyone should be protected from being abused because of their colour, or their age, and so on. But I think this Bill will only give bigots and people who wish to blackmail others another opportunity.

Minor point of online etiquette:
Even a cut and paste of the article's title, or your own impression of the the article is about, would be better than just posting a URL with just a "what do you think about this " comment or title..

People like me recoil from this because of all the email and comment spam that uses this technique.

I might well click on a reputable site like The Guardian, but anything more obscure, I am inclined to ignore, no matter how interesting or relevant the article might actually be ("look before you leap")

I guess I should have told you what I thought when reading it. It seems ok on the surface until you realise that it is just another mechanism to ban something, and that can never be a good thing.

I had to liken it to government's "hate speech legislation". It seems that if government doesn't like something they want to "ban" it. Also I am automatically distrusting of anything that comes out of a government department. I suspect what they really mean is: (Something like)

"We used to be a Christian country, we, government will make absolutely sure that that never happens again. How to do this? I know, we will legislate putting satanism on the same plane as Christianity, and so if (say) you spend half an hour a week teaching your children about the Christian Bible, you must also spend an equal amount of time teaching them about Bhuddism, Satanism etc. etc. on and on ....."

Feasible?
