i am a law student from India and am doing research on the national identity numbers of various nations as the same is going to be implemented in India(Unique identity number).
i am really keen to know about the legal flaws related to the concept of giving unique id's to the residents of the nation(privacy issues, identity theft etc.). i am looking forward for a detailed information.

This is a case where broad similarity in idea or motivation of the authorities does not assist you in the slightest. The legal flaws depend on the legal context, and the exact legal form of the scheme.

Anyone answering this needs to understand the Indian legal system well - both theoretically and practically - and the legal implementation of the Indian scheme. I'm accounted an expert on the British scheme, but I know nothing of those topics.
