Hi,

I put this together and thought it might be of use: A lesson from history - an image of a Star of David with the word ‘Jude’ in Gothic script inside, of the type worn no clothing. At the bottom of the image are the words of David Blunkett “ No one should fear correct identification”

The file bellow is 379 x 482 pixels and 25KB

The file bellow is 1395 x 1721 and 1.9MB

I like this, very effective and lets you draw your own conclusions. Shameful as it is, not everyone will see the significance of the 'Jude' label.

Nice.

I was thinking something similar along the lines of "Does technology make ID cards inevitable?"

Old ID (picture of Jewish star) New ID (pic of ID card).

Will people actually know what the stars mean?

Be careful using the Star of David, I wear a Pentacle around my neck on a silver chain, and you just would not believe the number of people who think that I'm Jewish!
(You should see the looks when I buy ham at the supermarket!)

Hi,

I'm not quite sure I get your point here. I'm not Jewish either, but i did ask a couple of friends who are what they thought of the image and they both thought it was very effective.

Most people of 50 and over should which is still a lot of people, and they also tend to be the age group that still bother to vote.

my point is, Peter, that a Star of David and a Pentacle, to the uninitiated, look very similar, which is why I made my statement. At first glance my Pentacle is often mistaken for the Jewish Symbol.
But, I do agree about the image, it's Powerful and conveys the message very well. 8)

Personally I think it's awesome. Extremely effective. It immediately prods the viewer into thinking about history, where we've already been, and where we definitely don't want to even contemplate going again.

Garnted they are somewhat similar looking, though a Penticale has 5 points where as the Star of David is a hexagram and has 7 points. I hope that the cntext in which it is being used helps.

A spot of Gordonomics there. I'm sure you meant to type 6. You don't get many heptagrams
A good way of not confusing people should you wear a pentacle is to wear it upside down. You'll still get looks, but for a completely different reason...

True 6 would have been more accurate, but I feel that 7 was well within my
acceptable accuracy target range
