NO2ID Edinburgh will be running its street campaigning stall on each of the Saturdays during April, weather permitting.

We shall be at our regular location at the east end of Princes Street, opposite the Balmoral Hotel, and we shall be there from 1pm-3pm each Saturday. So do stop by for a chat - or else to sign our petition and collect some leaflets and a badge. And, of course, new stall volunteers are always very welcome.

Our campaign table, having managed to survive intact for more than five years, is now (quite literally!) on its last legs. Also the surrounding graphic displays have become a little faded and are clearly coming to the end of their useful life. But not to worry, for help is at hand. We have now purchased from B & Q a replacement pasting table - for the princely sum of just £10. And work is in hand to produce a replacement set of graphic displays. In a matter of weeks we should have our new spick and span campaign table up and running. Can’t wait...

Interestingly, just last Saturday we were very pleased to get the most petition sign-ups by far that we’ve had since the general election.  And the reason for this must clearly be related to the ongoing phone-hacking scandal.  Presumably the whole episode to date has been concentrating minds and raising anxiety levels, especially in relation to privacy-related issues.  It will therefore be very interesting to see whether this anxious public mood continues this coming Saturday and beyond.
