NO2ID Edinburgh will be running its street campaigning stall on each of the Saturdays during July.
We shall be at our regular location at the east end of Princes Street, opposite the Balmoral Hotel, and we shall be there from 1pm-3pm each Saturday. So do stop by for a chat - or else to sign our petition and collect some leaflets and a badge. And, of course, new stall volunteers are always very welcome.
Last week the Scotsman displayed their somewhat ambiguous ‘LABOUR DITCHES ID CARD PLANS’ poster outside newsagents. As a result we have now had several people coming up to the stall and saying “So why are you still out here - it's all over!”. My usual reply has been: “The monster has only been wounded, but it still lives!”
However, even such deceptive press messages can have a positive side to them. For they attract people to the stall, allowing us to tell them about the campaign, explain what's really going on - and, of course, get them to sign the petition. That's a definite win for NO2ID!
