West Midlands police said it had reached the milestone today, adding that on average the force was impounding one uninsured vehicle every hour.
Police identify uninsured vehicles using the automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) technology, against data provided by the motor insurance database.
Since 2005, when police were given powers to stop vehicles identified as being driven without insurance, an average of 500 vehicles have been seized each day. Of those, an estimated 30pc are crushed.

Wow! All these uninsured vehicles being taken off the roads. So when's the price of insurance coming down then?

yep job done, all the uninsured cars are now off the road
so when is the ANPR network going to be dismantled because it's no longer needed, and as the poster above said when will insurance premiums come down ?
