my son didnt get his passport because of his signature. ips are sending out a letter which he has to sign and send back what diffrance will this make.

What was wrong with the signature? If it didn't fit in the (piddly) box then that is sufficient to reject the application as that is automatically scanned during the processing of the form. Getting a "reference" signature that isn't constrained by an arbitrary box enables it to be scanned and entered manually.

his signature didnt match the one on his passport application form. he has been asked to fill in the form they are away to send him sign it and send a new passport photo back to them
