I would like to suggest that if a topic is moderated and locked, the moderator should state who moderated it and why. Not an essay, just a brief explanation, as some of the locked topics seem to be relatively innocuous and the mods come over as hidden control freaks.

Moderators have been subject to abuse in the past which, in itself, created lots of noise. So we decided to keep most moderating anonymous.

We do annotate moderated posts if it's not obvious from the forum guidelines why. We're hoping for a shared mod account soon so then we can link the forum guidelines in the sig.

Yes but generally off topic or filled with pointless vulgar abuse.

David Moss gets away with posting yards of irrelevant rubbish by being so tedious. More aggressive pathological posters get killed off quickly because they turn to complaining about moderation rather than continuing woth industrial slurry production.
