How come you guys allow guest posting across the board?

Granted I understand people may be paranoid about speaking openly, but it just seems a little odd.

Look at the URL for the site. Consider, if you would, the name and aims of the organisation. Then, once you've done that, perhaps you'll then realise that this site will, as a rule, have a higher number of people worried about their privacy. Like me.

I think it's a reasonable precaution. I'm only posting under my real name because I'm leaving the country if this Bill or anything like it goes through.

The people at www.Punternet.com are pretty paranoid about their ID but they still regulate their forums. You need a genuine email address to register - but you can get an "anonymous" email from places like Lycos. What it means is that you need to go through some hoops before you can post on the forum and people that want to post complete bollox won't want to keep going through those hoops to post bollox indefinitely - this helps to keep the forums sane.

Some people worried about their privacy will be regular people, but many will be crims, pervs, nonces, loonies. Don't know why your campaign would want to give a forum to those people.

Anyway, I'm going back to the Punternet forum cos its more fun and I'm one of the pervs!

Methinks we have a Troll here. Besides, any number of pervs and deviants will no doubt have impeccable credentials and ID. It will be the law-abiding who have the most to fear.

As someone pointed out in a previous thread, my identity is not obscured in any way. I use my on-line persona for convenience, but finding my real name behind it is no great matter - and I don't much care if you do.

I do, however, think that a little more regulation on the forum would be a good thing. Not least, it will cut down the SPAM.
